Slay or Nay: KKW Contour Sticks

August 22, 2017

Hi everyone! I have decided to start a new series here on the blog called, "Slay or Nay." It is just like the series "Reviews" but the products I am reviewing here are the ones i purchased. This will help you better understand which products I purchased myself and which I got complimentary for testing purposes. At the end of the post, I will say either slay, you need to get it, or nay, you can pass this product up.

I recently purchased Kim Kardashian's new brands contour sticks and I have been having people wanting me to share with you all my thoughts on this product.

Without further adieu, let's get on with the review!

Price:

For a double ended contour, brush, and highlight stick, it is $48, but for shipping and tax, it turned out to be around $60.

Packaging:

Comes in nudie pink packaging that is sleek and a little cheap feeling. Comes with barely any product.

(Ignore my dog's fur lol! She was also curious about them)

Thoughts:

-I recently tried it out and here is the reason why it was not favorite. The contour sticks are very creamy, which I love, but very hard to blend out. I let it stay on my face without blending for 30 sec, and it dried on my face not making it easy to blend.

Also, there is barely any product for the price, $48. As for the highlight stick, the matte side is not as creamy and even harder to blend out.

The other detail that makes it even more hard to blend is that the sponge is not very squishy and kind of hurts to blend out. As for the brush, that is much better but still very hard to use. I prefer to use a Beauty Blender because it sucks up some of the extra product and makes it look less harsh. The last thing to talk about is the shimmer highlight. That was alright.

If you like a very subtle highlight, then you will love it, but if you like a booming highlight like I do, then this is not for you. My favorite part about this whole thing was the contour stick part, not the best, but it was passable.

This honestly wasn't my favorite product. It was hard to blend out, but once on it looked amazing on the skin. A contour palette I swear by that is much cheaper and better than this is the ELF Contour Palette. Just because it didnt work for me doesn't mean it won't work for you. If you're like me and purchased it for Kim's name, still try it out and see if it works better for you. I will keep using it, but will use less product next time.  Also, next time I will blend out immediately and use a Beauty Blender so that it is more moist and not dry feeling.

Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
