Hi everyone! I can't believe the day is here!!! It is my SECOND YEAR BLOGIVERSARY!!!!!!!! EEEEKKKK! I feel like I don't say how much I appreciate you all enough! I appreciate you all to the moon and back! <3
Today I will be going back in time to 2 years ago when I started my blog and explain the WHEN, the HOW, and the WHY I created this blog.
*I am going to dig deep in the archives and post pictures of when I was younger. Stay tuned for those!*
First off, I started my blog on August 8th, 2016! At this time, it was the summer going into Freshman Year in High School. So when you think about it, most of you have been with me through Freshman, Sophomore, and now Junior year. I actually started creating my blog back in July of 2016, and didn't publish the blog and first post until August 8th.
In July of 2016, my family and I were just at home when my sister mentioned she was going to start a blog. When my sister, Lauren, brought this up, I wanted to start one too and compete between "who's blog was better". HAHA!
**Back story: as a 14 year old, I was pretty competitive not gonna lie; I feel like my parents are going to say I still am!**
Anyways, my parents were pretty supportive of both of our decisions so I bought my domain, Sweet Life Of Mia, and my sister bought, Ever So Simply. Spoiler Alert: my sister and her friend who ran, Ever So Simply, ended up going to college and knew they wouldn't have time to run their blog. I did feel like they put a lot of time and effort into their Instagram and Blog and I enjoyed looking at their posts.
Long story short, we both ended up creating our blogs, and I truly fell in love with blogging and the competitive side, slowly disappeared. We both ended up using Wix as our platform and can't say enough good things about our experience using Wix. ( I actually turned my Aunt into using Wix for her website.)
After my sister decided to quit blogging, I continued to create and post content. Blogging gave me a platform to bring back my love for fashion- as a kid I loved mixing and matching pieces, as seen here:
But, when I went to school, I wore leggings and a t-shirt which I still do! In my opinion, blogging is not about how glamorous you can dress, its about what you feel comfortable wearing and showing on social media. If you look at my Instagram now, you will see I will dress up here and there, but I will also wear joggers and a tee because that is reality and what I wear day-to-day.
I feel like blogging is a super fun hobby for me because I was never a "journal" type of girl, but this is a place where I can post things that I want and look back in 10 years and see all the great blogging experiences I had. I don't care if I have spelling errors or grammar issues, this is a place I feel comfortable allowing myself to share what's on my mind. This is my mini journal that I will have forever. I have truly enjoyed these last 2 years and I can't wait to see what happens next. This is my hobby and I enjoy blogging not only for you, but for myself too.
I cannot wait to continue posting content and I hope you all stick around because I have a lot of fun posts coming up!
Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed!
